was the name of this photo, and I couldn't agree more... I wish my friends were this cool.
I'm not quite sure what to use this vox thing for. Art? I have an image blog on my website that I never update. Personal stuff? I use lj for that mostly. I've even started using my Myspace blog lately for the less personal stuff!
Maybe if I hadn't used my own name, I'd write totally candid stuff about my social/romantic life. That would have been kind of cool! too bad.
So... time to ponder.
Actually, time to get back to work.
My job is so cool that dressing up like we're corporate is a special occasion.

Ok, anyhow. back to work.
I started writing this blog entry and kind of venting in a cryptic sort of way about some relatively unimportant social issue, then I realized how fucking lame it was and how "livejournal circa 2003"I felt for doing so.
Sorry, Internet. you almost got me.
+ Getting off work Tues. and going straight to dinner with 3 new friends at a new place. Well, a place I'd never been. It existed before I went there, if you subscribe to that particular philosphical model of reality. Also, the people were alive before I knew them. Uh. Anyway, I heartily recommend L'Astra. It's a great, tiny place with gourmet-quality food at cheap-ass prices. I had the quail and potatoes with Lentil Bacon soup. fucking right. Colin brought two bottles of nice red wine from his work, we all made sex jokes and laughed really loudly, and got drunk-ish while eating rich succulent food. New favorite restaurant. Right after this, we head over to Rotture to wear fake glasses and throw eagle gang signs that look like vogue moves,
had a few drinks there, and the pull of the fun times lured us to Tube, which I had told myself I was going to skip this week. But I didn't. And it was fun. And I drank too much, but not as much as usual and still woke up too late to be on time for work (which earned me a well deserved talking to from my kind hearted boss, but that's not one of the most awesome things thaat's happened, so I'll leave that part of the story on the side).
+ Because my hectic lifestyle is tiring and my cellphone is doing a shitty job waking me up, I bought a new alarm clock last night to help me wake up on time, and it worked, I got to work on time! How lame is it that I'm stoked about that? Pretty lame.
+ I saw jackass 2 last night at Laurelhurst (a cool second-run theatre in my neighborhood) with a pitcher of good IPA and some popcorn and a friend, and it was AWESOME. I wouldn't want to be buddies with those guys (well, maybe Johnny Knoxville - he seems like a nice young man), but there were so many outright laugh out loud moments, cringeworthy skits and near sympathy-vomit moments that we were cracking up the whole time. I even felt sympathy for Bam Margera by the end (and I fucking hate him).
+ I've been really productive with the drawing lately, getting a page or two penciled every time I sit down and apply myself. Issue two is scheduled for April release, in time for APE I'd hope. Also, two of my favorite cartoonists are confirmed to do pin up art for it. Names are a secret, for now at least!
+ went to Seattle on Saturday with some cartoonist pals
for the Fantagraphics store opening/gallery show,
hung out with Eric Reynolds all too briefly
and made some new friends
what a good weekend! shit, what a good week!

You can still post totally candid stuff! Post to your neighborhood (which is equivalent to friends-only) or to Friends (which... read more
